is the Ignitor®
Motorbike Alarm different from other alarms?
The Ignitor®
Motorbike Alarm boasts a 'Low Impact Installation'.
Only 2 wires to
connect!
The Ignitor®
will not flatten your battery.
Current consumption is
about one fifth that of the competition.

carry and NO KEY FOBS!
All functionality is
controlled by your existing ignition key.

Is the Ignitor®
Motorcycle Alarm compatible with my motorbike or scooter?
YES, provided;
1. You have space. The
Ignitor is 62 x 86 x 56mm.
2. Your bike has a 12
Volt battery.
3. Your bike has an
ignition switch.
4. Your bike has a
'suitable lamp circuit'.
What is a 'suitable
lamp circuit'?
The positive wire of
any lamp directly connected to the ignition circuit.
Typically a tail lamp
circuit, rego plate lamp circuit or park lamp circuit.
Look for lamps that
illuminate when you switch your ignition on.
Confirm which lamps
stay on during starting (slight dimming is ok).
A 'suitable lamp
circuit' is simply the positive wire of one of these lamps.
Note: Bikes with
headlamp on/off switches may require minor electrical modification.

Does the Ignitor®
Motorbike Alarm immobilise the engine?
No, the effectiveness
of immobilisers on motorcycles is somewhat questionable.
So why pay for it when
most thieves will simply lift your bike on the back of a truck.
Depending on the
experience of your installer and quality of the components,
electrical
immobilisation may have serious consequences to the reliability of
your ride.
The best
way to immobilise your bike is with a quality disc lock.
Is the sensitivity of
the Ignitor®
Alarm adjustable?
The Ignitor®
will exhibit a similar level of sensitivity regardless of mounting
orientation.
Note however, that the
Ignitor will experience more movement if mounted higher on the bike.
The Ignitor®
Motorcycle Alarm employs a precision roller ball sensor with gold
plated contacts.
The use of a roller
ball sensor overcomes many of the issues associated with
bike alarms.
Many manufactures
simply adapt car alarms to to do the job of a motorcycle alarm.
They ignore that fact
that the mechanical dynamics are vastly different.
Will the Ignitor®
Motorcycle Alarm flatten my battery?
Other alarms will
flatten your battery - Ours doesn't!
The Ignitor®
draws a mere 0.001A when armed.
(About one fifth the
consumption of other motorcycle alarms on the market).
What about nuisance
alarms?
The Ignitor®
complies with all Australian state and federal noise legislation.
The Ignitor®
employs a series of warning chirps which serve to reduce false
alarms.
The Ignitor®
will not sound the alarm for more than 30 seconds and;
The Ignitor®
will not sound the alarm more than 3 times.
